Breaking My Heart

A Poem About One-sided Love

Those beautiful blue eyes of yours
And rosy-cheeks, red-wine lips
Splendid long neck, Standing proud between wishbones
And a pit beneath it, where hangs
Our Lovelace; the locket, intoxicatingly.

Your gait, bestowed with the grace of queens
Roaming in the crowed, aimlessly
Laugh sometimes, sometimes turn abrupt
Looks, like your heart, waits for some
Strange, wild or unbeknownst arriver
Whose mere idea beset your heart on fire.

With that, my love, I look you in corner
Corner of my eyes, smiling with them
Shaking hands, greeting and laughing
But deep down something in my heart
Want us to be alone on an island
Where none but us and only we are there.

I imagine that,

But grief would not leave me there, too
For you don’t look the same
the gloom you wear on your face
While seeing me there, us alone!
The environs of my heart, deep down
Turn dark, desolate, and abandoned
With that, you break your glass of wine
And with the shatter, breaking my heart.
