Short Story
Calling Dreams
Naila stood up and walked up the steep path to see where she was. While climbing up, she took hold of some shrubs to support her go up. “Careful!” a plant said while avoiding her grip. At first, she took it for granted and tried again. But this time she realized that the plant actually talked while moving away. She slowly looked upward to the trees and saw the vast blue sky that seemed like everything is caught in a spell. The time she looked upward, the trees turned down their heads and looked at her. Soon it turned out that everything was looking at her with amazement and awe. She couldn’t believe her eyes as everything was looking so strangely beautiful that gave her mixed feelings of fear and amazement.
She often dreams of walking in a wonderland in her sleep after retiring to her bed from a hectic day. That’s why the only refuge from all these tiring things is her bed. She really considers sleeping a bliss to gets relaxed.
While again there in her dream, she found that all the flora and fauna were talking about her and that they are all happy yet apprehensive of the danger she could pose to Wonderland.
Unaware of all this, she tripped and fell. She slipped into a cave that was lit with light instead of dark. She wondered how it could be but by looking around; she saw that the light was actually coming from something like a tiny sun enclosed in a steel web, and everywhere there were particles of light moving in the air.
Suddenly, she heard a dog and a rabbit are sitting somewhere in a corner of the cave, on the opposite turn. They were talking about human’s arrival in the wonderland and looked worried about all this.
“She looks so beautiful, isn’t she?” said the rabbit.
“Oh, come on, Rabbo. A beautiful but strange thing is always dangerous. Be careful. Don’t go near her.” Said the dog, expressing his concerns for the rabbit.
She was listening closely to them when a noise outside shadowed their talking. She grew apprehensive and nerves about what that could be when suddenly a lion appeared in the cave's mouth and roared with his full throat.
Afraid! she suddenly opened her eyes and looked around her room. She saw her dog sitting near her said, “Don’t worry, now you are safe now.”
