Life in the Time of Corona
No one knew that the virus that engulfed the Wahan city in China will spread so rapidly and will take the world by surprise and fear. The spread of the Covid-19 was so swift that we could not manage to prepare our self in advance. Everything had to come to a complete stop after 10th March immediately. However, hope was there and everyone knew deep down in their hearts that we will overcome it sooner or later.
After the complete lockdown, the world did not just sit silent and to wait what may come. Human nature is productive and every time, whether busy or not, it thinks about becoming more productive or at least to sustain the level. But this time, people experienced a totally different phenomenon where one could not think of coming out as outdoor activities were fatal. However, the thaw melted, and life is blossoming again slowly and gradually. Everything is coming to its routine-life again — Thank God.
As the lockdown was imposed, earning was the first thing that was badly affected. Millions of people around the world started searching for other avenues to earn and live. Definitely, the other ways of earning were online freelancing. There are thousands of websites and companies that offer online jobs where one can earn according to his skills and capabilities. Some people are quite successful in getting their online jobs as they have already polished skills and knew something about freelancing beforehand while others learned many new skills on how to work online.
Along with earning, the routines were also disturbed and changed for almost always, as the Corona Virus has shaped new ways of living life. As a result, new routines are formed and accepted. Now, everyone is quite busy and happy with what they have explored and learned.
Not everyone was economic stricken, other people have got plenty of time to spend it with their family and know more about each other. As before the outbreak, people have to work long hours in offices or travel abroad had less time to live with their families and to see their children growing. Now, they took it as an opportunity and lived fully with their family.
But all were not lucky. Some people lost their sole jobs and lost all their saving to the outbreak as income was stopped with the loss of the job. They, too, have learned lessons. For example, such people have learned to try to maximize their earning, save a little more, and to invest in long term continuous profitable projects in order to avoid future catastrophes.
Not only finances are affected and significant but also good health was more important. As we all know and follow the precautions told by WHO such as social distancing, washing hands with soap, using mask and gloves and avoid going into gathering unnecessarily. It helped us learn that good health is more important than everything and being healthy means you can even fight the worldwide pandemic. People throughout the world are now very much concerned about taking good care of their health.
Additionally, we have also learned how to prioritize our relations and surrounding circles. We have learned that the less the social contact we have but with the best people is better. As we have experienced that only quality relationships have yielded and helped us in these trying times.
Self-independence is another thing that comes into foreplay when we are faced with life-threatening situations. We have also learned that only you, yes only you, can help yourself and nobody else is going to help you out of your miseries when you are stuck in such as these. But others are not responsible for letting us alone — we are. So, better be self-independent economically.
Reading habits were also on the rise as people have to spend time and some people always take greater advantages of their precious time. Such people turn their losses into profits by reading more books and learning new great things from the experiences of others. As reading is the only great thing that reduces tensions, broadens the mind, and gives intellectual freedom and satisfaction. Book reading polishes one's overall personality and prepares one for all sort of situations to deal with bravely.
Getting to the end, Corona Virus has turned life upside down. Some people have lost many precious things but they have learnt valuable lessons while others have given up previous things for priceless. Both sides were lacking and both are now trying hard rethink their priorities in order to live with more ease and satisfaction. The outbreak was fatal but the human is naturally resilient and flexible. We dealt with it bravely though we have lost to it dearly. It is time to start with a new outlook on life.
